-30- Free iPod Movies

Posted on Sep 30, 2009 under free ipod downloads | 2 Comments

The Curious Case of Benjamin ButtonX-men Origins: WolverineThe iPodBomb team found where you can get 30 free iPod Movies! We don’t know how long these movies are gonna be on offer.

AND - we don’t know if the downloads are OK (I am out and about and can’t check from here) .

But came across this site thats been set up by a cool design guy at iamcreativ and he has a page devoted to free iPod movies that we can download!!? Go figure!

Maybe he is hoping his site will go viral? Maybe he just has a kind heart -or,  maybe the guy is playing a joke (a nasty one?)!

Don’t know - but am passing on the link for anyone who is keen enough to give the offer of these free iPod movies a try. Let us know if they work!

The New iPod Nano Video is Cool!

Posted on Sep 23, 2009 under ipod reviews | No Comment

Just a quick update from our last post about the new iPod Nano video feature. We reckon the TV ad gives a great showcase of the video:

Now, how can we say ‘no’ to that?

Cool New iPod Video

Posted on Sep 20, 2009 under ipod news | 1 Comment

As you can see by our late follow up on the 2009 iPod Event, we saw it pretty much as a non-event. The new iTunes set-up is OK (though no access to Beetles! and no Sir Paul at the event!!). But nothing outa the box, to be honest.

About the only cool feature for the non-touch iPod is that latest new iPod nano has a new built-in video camera,

a larger screen and a pretty cool polished metal finish in a wide range of bright colors.

The announcements for the iPod touch were a bit more interesting, as there was an iPhone 3.1 software update that can be purchased for the iPod Touch (current price for it is now down to $4.95). The main benefits of the new software seem to be: new genius technology that automatically recommends apps based on apps we already own and 30K ringtones to select from (though at $1.29 each, not as good as it sounds).

The new Nano is pretty, though!

Apple’s September iPod Event

Posted on Sep 07, 2009 under ipod news | 1 Comment

Just a quick post to remind you all about the upcoming Apple Sept. 9 iPod event in San Francisco. Themed - as you’ve no doubt heard - “It’s only rock and roll but we like it.'With The Beatles (Remastered)'

There are a lot of rumors floating around - including the possibility that Paul McCartney will be on stage with Steve Jobs at the event to announce the Beetles being released on iTunes! - but instead of repeating them here, we decided to just wait and see! Check back on the 9th for what we reckon is the stuff worth knowing!

Medienevent am 9. SeptemerBut it is interesting that September 9, 2009, is also the day for the worldwide release of  the new digitally remastered catalogue of every Beatles song ever made.

And it is interesting that the Apple event is called “its only rock and roll but…” and that the invite included the dance image above. And its interesting that Jobs will be on the job again.

But, hey, we aren’t going to speculate, are we?…

Which iPod is best for iPod Movies?

Posted on Sep 02, 2009 under ipod accessories, ipod movies | 1 Comment

Product DetailsWell the quick answer is NOT the new iPod shuffle, lol! While the shuffle may well end up being the first MP3 player the size of an ear bud (no prizes for guessing why we chose that analogy!), which will then mean, no doubt, that it stops being the cheapest as well, it is blind!

And being blind means it can’t do all the great things that the other iPods can do - and in fact is not really an iPod, in our book!

What’s more, “real” iPods just got way better - at least for one model. And that has inspired this post. Because the iPod Touch can now get updated with the latest iPhone software. Which, according to Apple, means:

When you get the new iPhone 3.0 Software Update for iPod touch, you get new features that make watching video, playing games, and listening to music even more fun.

See what we mean? The thing about the Touch is that it allows us to be a part of  the apps revolution that is going on at iTunes, and hundreds of great apps are free. Now, admitedly, that access does come at a cost!

Product DetailsProduct DetailsFor example, we can get the latest Apple iPod Classic 120 GB model for around $225. Or we can get the latest model Apple iPod Nano 16 GB for around $175.  But the latest iPod Touch 16 GB will set us back for around $275 and the 32 GB costs around $380!

So it costs more - and has way less memory that the Classic does.  What’s more, the software upgrade is NOT free! We have to shell out another ten bucks for it.  So the question is - is it worth it to get a Touch? Is it worth the loss of memory and the extra $$ to get the sweeter  software and bigger screen size?

Well, how big are you pockets? How long is your travel time? How good is your eye sight? We think there is no contest but know plenty of people we can’t even give a Touch to as they like their compact iPods just fine. So, while we give the prize to the Touch - because the new software will allow it to download movies and TV shows over Wi-Fi from the iTunes Store, we admit that music lovers will not agree. But they might - just - be interested in the new software benefit that enables us to listen to music wirelessly using bluetooth headphones.

For those that are interested, you can get the new iPhone software for the iPod Touch from the Apple site.
