Legal Free Music Downloads for iPodsOur latest, newest …drum roll… bestest method of getting legal free music downloads for our iPods - is perhaps the best yet!

Because what it does is troll over 2000 internet radio stations for whatever music we want and then download it for us!! For free! And its all legal! And it only just takes about 25 seconds to find them!

You can download Radiotracker FREE from this link!

AND worth sharing with all our friends - we have, that’s for sure! And they have all loved it! Best thing since all the free download sites got shut down by Apple!!

Now what we are looking for is a software that does this for movies - because everyone here reckons they are just too expensive on iTunes! And while we have reviewed some great software that allows us to copy DVDs - what we wanna find is software that copies movies and/or TV shows from any site. We’ll keep you posted.

More iPod TV for free!

Posted on Jun 27, 2009 under free ipod movies, ipod software | 7 Comments

We normally don’t do any posts on any software without trying it first. So be warned that we have not tested this one out. Basically, because we could not get the Mobile TV Center demo to install!! The wrap on the site and the video below makes the software look like its worth a try - so we are letting you know about it. If you can get it to work then you can watch pre-recorded TV shows on your iPod - it auto converts and loads them to your iPod.

Let us know how you go with it - and if you get it to work, tips for the rest of us!

Become an Operation Planet Savers and win an iPod !

Posted on Jun 19, 2009 under free iPod stuff | No Comment

Sometimes the world is much more fun for kids. This contest is really for kids - but hey, if you are young at heart there is nothing to stop you from getting in there and having fun with this.

OPS (Operation Planet Savers) is a FREE four week game (June 1-June 28, 2009) that has been developed by humangames.com to sync with the new Disney movie G-Force which will premier on July

POS allows kids (and the young at heart) to be get selected to win prizes (including the iPod Nano)

G-Force 3D

By registering to become an “Agent” you can opt for missions that will challenge you to do physical and mental task that earn “virtual prizes”.  Every time you complete a mission you can earn points. These virtual points can be used, for example,  to “unlock” sneak peek movie clips.

Also, you have the chance to be featured as the Agent of the Week (might be embarrassing if you are over 10 though)! On the other hand, each week  iPod nanos are randomly rewarded to 3 lucky agents. So may be worth the embarrassment after all? Just so you know what you might be up for - here is a sample mission:

mission is worth 200 points and takes 8 minutes:

Run the pattern 8 as many times as you can in 8 minutes.  Think it sounds easy?  If you try to run a smaller pattern, it will get harder to maintain the pattern for long periods of time (be careful, this may make you dizzy).  Run the pattern larger and it will just lessen the amount of times you can actually do.

To help you get the hang of this, humangames has provided a video of the first agent of the week:

Good Luck POS Agents all.

Free iPod Music Downloads

Posted on Jun 15, 2009 under free ipod downloads, iPod Music | 2 Comments

We have just found a neat way to get 50 free music downloads with another possible 365 free music downloads  on offer over a period of time. All that it takes is downloading a free music toolbar (which also gives us access to free radio!) and then we can get all this free music.

OK - just to take you through it - this is what you have to do. First - go to this site and scroll down to the bottom of the page. There you will see a link to “free music downloads”. Click that link and you will be taken to the page where you can download the free music tool. Once you have downloaded the tool you will open it and get a very pleasant bonus (well, we did!):-

Free iPod Music Downloads

Now we do have to sign up for the free trial - which means we also get to use the Music site for free for 7 days. And in return we get 50 free songs of our own choice to keep - no matter whether we cancel the free trial or not (which is super easy to do). On top of that - as if that wasn’t cool enough - we also get offered a free song every day for the next 365 days!! We have kept 3 of the ones we were offered over the last week. If the offers continue to be that good we are looking at at least another 150 free songs - yippee!

Free iPod Music Downloads

If you have trouble with Firefox (we did) you will be relieved to know its real easy to download with Internet Explorer.  The free 365 songs are selected for us by a team of experts from. So, lets face it - not all are going to appeal to everyone, everyday. But so far we have enjoyed the selections on offer.Give it a try and let us know what you think.

BTW - the way the free trial works is - you will be allowed a 7 days during which time you can try out the service and download the 50 free songs you want. The Free Trial period will expire upon the last day of the the 7 day Free Trial period. If you end the Free Trial before the end of the 7 days (which is OK to do), any remaining free downloads will be lost. On the other hand, if you do not terminate the free trial by the last day, you will be automatically subscribed to eMusic and billed based on the payment plan selected when you registered.

How To Get Free Movies and TV SHows on Our iPods

Posted on May 30, 2009 under free iPod stuff, ipod movies, ipod software | 4 Comments

This afternoon I put two episodes of my favorite TV show on my iPod to watch while I am traveling Free iPod moviestomorrow. Hmm - that sounds like it took all afternoon. When actually - using the best software I have used in a very long time  - it took but moments. In know - I should do a commercial on it or something!

But I admit I’m pretty chuffed about it. Like four clicks and the shows were on my iPod. It was that easy to use and that fast.

Now, I did have the video files already on my computer (I’ll explain how I got them in my next post). And using this free TransferMy Videosoftware, it was a case of clicking ‘browse’ to find the video file, clicking on the image provided to choose iPod, clicking ’start converting’, and a few minutes later - iTunes opened and the video was ready to be synced to my iPod. It was GREAT! And it was free!!

Now, I admit, the free version does have a watermark in the middle of the screen - which can be annoying. But if it bothers you, then its real cheap software and well worth getting. AND I found a promo for it - only works for the next couple of days - but I’m gonna get it and I thought I’d post it here for anyone else who might be interested.

The Free version can be got HERE

An Better Alternative to iTunes?

Posted on May 21, 2009 under free ipod downloads | 1 Comment

We have been aware of the Rockbox site for some time - but not being tech geeks, were not able to make good use of it. Why the interest? Well, they offer a quality alternative player to iTunes. Here is what they have to say about their player:

Rockbox aims to be considerably more functional and efficient than your device’s stock firmware while remaining easy to use and customizable. …It is written by users, for users.

Fortunately for us,  a Youtube video has been released just today, that explains how easy it is to download and use the Rockbox firmware.

Download Legal Music Free!

Posted on May 09, 2009 under free ipod downloads | 6 Comments

HomeInterested in getting free music? Have you heard of “creative commons license”? Well, these are licenses that allow musicians to waive their copy rights for us users - or for other musicians who may want to use the music for further vreative work. In fact:

Creative Commons has been described as being at the forefront of the copyleft movement, which seeks to support the building of a richer public domain by providing an alternative to the automatic “all rights reserved” copyright, dubbed “some rights reserved.” (Wikipedia)

Soundclick is a site that offers musician the opportunity to provide their music through creative commons license. And so offers us the opportunity to download free music!

On the home page there are several options to choose from in the header bar. Click on “Music” and select license songs and beats from the drop down menu. In the header bar under the “license songs and beats” you will see that you can choose the type of license. The drop down menu will give you the choice of “commercial license ($)” or “creative commons (Free)”. Select creative commons and the genre of music you like and hit “go“

For “Pop” for example, the current result is 14,841 licenses have been found!! You will have to register to become a member with Soundclick - but its free and there are over 300,000 songs available on Soundclick through Creative commons license. When you choose a song you want, just click “full” and you will be sent to where you can download to iTunes. Above is one example of a free song from the rock genre.

iPod - a Weapon of mass destruction?

Posted on Apr 21, 2009 under free ipod downloads, ipod news | No Comment

Bulletflight Images Pic1Interestingly, two reports hit the airways today that reveal that iPods are now considered an essential ingredient in the war on (and by) terrorists!

From the BBC UK came the report of a man jailed today over terrorism charges. In his posession was:

a document or record containing information likely to be useful to a person committing or preparing an act of terrorism.

How does this relate to iPods? Well, apparently part of the “strong evidence” collected was an iPod!!

Now this might sound nuts - except that coincidentally, Newsweek also reported today on the growing importance of the iPod Touch as “an electronic handheld device”, for the military in Baghdad. Aparently this sophisitcated piece of equipment has actually outsmarted current military devices - cheaper by more than 50% and better! Apparently we can now include “making sense of the reams of data from satellites, drones and ground sensors” as part of its capabilities.

And as you can see from the above image - todays reports are not the first linking iPods to military use.

Makes the name of our blog take on a whole new meaning!

The following video, I think you will agree, was a must-include for this post
